Will a 1974 drivetrain fit into a 1993 XJ?

No.   You might make it fit by cutting, grinding, modifying.........

It will most definatly fit, but as stated will take a lot of fabrication/modification Wink I've seen several SBC's in XJ's, and was even concidering putting a 304 or 360 in one of mine. When I measured thing out on the XJ it didn't look like it would be that much more work than the SBC's. Getting a big enough radiator in one will be one of the hurtles, but at least with the AMC engine you can easily get to the dist. cap.

At one time many years ago a guy had a MJ with a 360 in it. Took it to lots of AMC shows in the Mid-West. He would sell you the info sheet on how he did it.

You want '80+ Jeep drivetrain unless you plan an axle swap along with the longarm kit. '74 is pass drop and the XJ is driver's drop.
