Congrats Ron and great looking car.  Glad to see you got your baby (or its twin) back.   I know how you feel!  We will have to go to the same show next year and park our two returned babies side by side!

If you want to swap out to a correct M12 somewhere down the road feel free to contact me. I believe we have a few spares, or better yet put in a 200 or 7004R!

Thanks all for the Kudos. it was REALLY hard not jumpin in this am and drivin her to work BUT 29 degrees and fog aint no fun. Maybe tomorrow. We are enjoyig 55-60 degree afternoon temps though.Big smile

The Cragars on the first AMX, the best I can recall, were, 14x8 on the fronts & 14x10 on the rear with Mickey Tompson radials on the rear. Both the fender & quarter inside lips were cut and rolled in so an earlier pair of autocross Indy 500 bluestreak race (rain) tires would fit.  I autocrossed the car one time with those tires on a short course and I took home 1st place beating the Vettes in class.

Very nice AMX Mike! get er dun and we'll meet up at Cleveland 2015. No trailer this time for me. A real "Buckeye get-2-gether' is in order. Clap

Dan I misspoke when I said it had a M11. I believe its the original M12. I won't change a thing in the drivetrain except maybe an air gap or performer manifold and maybe a better carb, but thats next year. It's obvious that the previous owner took real good care of the important drivetrain items-especially when they were rebuilt. The grille is going to need repaired but other than a couple busted tabs it's complete. I installed the new steering wheel last night. The rimblow, IMHO, isn't even a core. its really cracked & warped bad + I really like the color match of the new wheel.

I bought a nice used clock (quartz converted) so I'll install that tonight.
The NOS outside mirrors are perfect!!

My rears are 14x10 also. Unfortunately you can't buy new tires to fit them anymore! Unhappy

Good find, Ron! Now, you're making a long term relationship with this one, right? :)
I don't believe any '70 production started prior to August. So yes, this is one of the earlier '70 AMXs. Does the engine tag match for date code?
