It will be good to see you, Jim.  Take it easy in this heat.  It's 101 at my house today, sure it's close to that in Nampa as well.

Body work continuing.  Luckily, the car did not have any rust on it (except a small spot on the driver floor panel below the gas pedal).  I took the glass out and stripped it down to metal and then handed it over to the shop (I'm not a body or paint guy - really just a grunt to grind stuff off).  We found a few spots of some old and bad body work on the quarters so that has been repaired.  Trunk lid had a few whoop-t-doos, not too bad.  Fenders, hood, roof, pillars all pretty good.  Got my 360 and nice engine bay covered up.

At least now I will know that it is all done well.  The shop I found is a great one with very experienced folks.  They only take 4 cars at a time (the others are a 64 1/2 Mustang, a 62 Comet and a 66 Lincoln Continental).  I'd say another month or so and it should be done with both body and paint.  Looking forward to it but still trying to narrow down the paint color to 2 or 3.

The hood and left quarter progress.  Had some dimples and wrinkles in the quarter.  Nice and smooth now.  By the way, thanks to Forum Member Typhooner (Brian) for the driver door that I purchased from him last year.  It's on and in much better shape than the junker I had on it.

Nice work, Matt! I'll bet it flies!! I'm looking forward to seeing it in Vegas.

I'm not sure which car I'll take there.  My '72 is more of a driver than a show car, but I'm thinking of driving it up there just for the fun of it.  Vegas is about 4-1/2 hours from here.

All you guys have been great motivators to me. Seeing what you have done to your cars has really blown me away. Vegas or bust. Gotta hustle but I should at least have enough completed to make the run.
