ok i wasn't sure if this should be posted here, or members projects, or chassis and suspenion was the proper place to post this. I have posted in the members projects before, but i thought i'd try here. basicly this is some photos of our 69 amx which is currently getting a new 10 point moley cage, subframe connectors, calvert leafs moved to the inside of frame rail. caltrac bars and calvert racing rear shocks, aje wheelie bars, all new painless wiring. and besides the 428 that about raps it up. oh and we removed the rear spring shackle and installed sliders.
![]() the sliders
![]() ![]() ![]() this was taken with all the weight on the rear axle to get a idea of how it was going to set on 28x11s on 10 inch wheels i think it looks good. anyway the car is a work in progress. let me know what you think?

I take that it is going to be a ford engine in your car. 428
Is it going to be a the big block or a stroked small block. |

"its not a ford!"
Sweet!
I glanced at this the other day and thought it was another Bastard thread and kept going.
I like the way it sets over those 28x11's, looks real good.
We would love to see some Pics. of it off the jack stands when you're done.
What are the advantages of the sliders over shackles?

Its not a ford, i didn't even think of that being a ford cubic inch when i posted this. and now i'm setting here thinking why would we want to slow it down by putting a ford in it.
anyhow the sliders are suppose to further eliminated any bind in the leaf spring and it prevents over tightening the the shackle bolts since you now have a bearing there. and shackle rocking on launch which would be more of an issue of your not running solid bushings. they are also suppose to keep more constant pressure on the spring as the car goes down track. but mainley our chassis guy runs them on deep 9 second car and says it hooks and goes straight so where using them. |

More pictures. Mainly of the new cage, and a couple of the motor to prove its not a ford.

Great looking project.
I like the look of that seat, but my limited experience with overstuffed seats is that no matter how hard I pulled at the belts it just squished me further down into the foam and never really got tight.
When I put in the cheap Kirkey seat I felt like I was driving a real race car, you feel EVERYthing. It was like a soap box derby at 100mph
