I heard rumor that "certain AMC Hornet Hatchbacks" have a chrome strip that interchanges with the nose chrome on 69/69 Javelin. True? False? or Urban Legend? If this is a repeat, sorry.

Once you kink it it the middle, it could fit, but the Hornet trim is much wider than the original stainless steel hood trim and obviously looks different. If you have any fabrication skills, the stainless trim on top of AMX doors is about the same width, has the correct bevel and the end nearest the back of the door has the correct shape at the end, but the door trim is longer than the original hood trim and the "pointed" end has to be cut back and carefully modified to make a correct end.

I believe the Hornet trim piece that's being referred to is a trim strip from the rear panel between the tail lights.

Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.
