Sigh...I am trying to talk a friend through the removal of the back seat of this (fairly new to me) car when I am not near it.  Need to remove the back seat and he is struggling.  Nothing online about this of course.  Any guidance oh wise ones??

Thanks,

Craig

It is easy to remove  the rear seat...but it does take some muscle work. First move front seat as far forward as possible to give yourself more working space in the back seat area.  Next place your hands on both sides of the seat bottom near the floor and push the seat bottom back and pull up the lower cushion this will release the bottom seat cushion and you can take the seat out of the car. The upper seat cushion will either be bolted in at the bottom or you will just have to pull the seat upwards to release the seat from two slots /grooves near the floor. The upper seat cushion will then lift off of the back parcel tray.  I'm hope this helps. Maybe you will be lucky and find some 💰 under the seat!!!

The rear seat back (upper portion) will most likely be bolted on at the top.  You can remove the nuts INSIDE the trunk.

I have a 66 convertible, don’t know if it is the same setup.  The bottom cushion just pulls straight up and the slides out.  The back cushion had 2 bolts holding it in from the topback.  On mine they were accessible from the convertible top.  On a sedan they may be accessible from in the trunk.

Hope this helps.
