61-63 should all interchange, with a possible exception of convertible and maybe hardtop. Not sure if they are the same without looking at the parts book.

The windshield I have located is in a hardtop and I need it to replace a cracked windshield in a wagon. I don't have access to a parts book. Any help I can get will be appreciated to prevent buying something I won' be able to use. Thabks

What he said... it appears the big car changed windshield for the hardtop/convert, not the little American (didn't check 64+). I'm pretty sure you can even use a 58-60 windshield. Only the back glass changed with the 61-63 restyle.

One of the design constraints for the 61 remodel was that the unit body remain virtually unchanged to keep costs low. The side glass is identical (except of course the 63 hardtop), and I'm reasonably sure the windshield is. The rear glass was changed because the roof panel was changed and required a new back glass -- the frame supporting the roof is the same as 58-63 though. All exterior sheetmetal changed, the only change to the unit body structure was the firewall, done mainly to move the master cylinder from the floor to firewall. New heater box was designed since the firewall stamping was being changed anyway.

Sadly, the supplier of the hardtop windshield told me he cracked it trying to remove it. I'm back to square one. Is the 58-60 glass different? Any ideas anyone? My windshield is usable at present with a crack on the inner pane with a crack from the edge running up and to the left about six inches. It starts about the right end of the driver's wiper.

According to my Hollander Interchange Manuel, 61-63 and 58-60 American windshields will not interchange.
When you look at pictures of the 2 windshields, you can see big differences in the bottom corners. Don't try to remove a cold windshield, if you can't get it in a warm building and let it warm up overnight, wait till warmer weather.
