anybody try this carb yet....
I have run a 625 carter-edlebrock  pulls stronger on bottom end.
I now run a 650 holley vacumn secondarys, pulls stronger on top end.
Both run 13.2 @1o6 mph
It would seem to me that the New street demon with 3 stage venturi and Goggle Value
might split the difference and run strong all across the board and maybe pick me up a tenth or two??

running at 5800 feet with thin air....
Edlebrock heads, airgap intake, 401 - 69 AMX , 354 gears, 534 lift Bullet cam, 4 speed

To many variables left out to make a guess.

What Manifold?

Header tube diameters?

Your shift points (RPM)

13.2 is pretty excellent for a street car on street tires. 106 mph
says you are making around 350 hp to the wheels, very good there also.
Excellent numbers fo a mile high street car!

You should be solidly in the mid 12's at 114 at sea level.

I am of the opinion that your carb(s) is a tad small, especially if you are using a dual plane manifold.

13.2 is screamin' but I too think something in a 750 cfm tuned for Your alt. would work better.

With that cam and gear A 750 Double pumper would be what I would try next.

I missed the manifold note.
IMO you are under carbureted.

I would like to see a 900+ CFM spread bore carb on that rig.

Something along the lines of a carter Thermoquad.

Thanks for the replys guys.........but running at 5800 feet is a WHOLE NEW BALL GAME.......
625 to 650 CFM  ...plugs are right color.  Ya need lots of Velocity up here........I tryied a 750 Edlebrock and put small jets and appropriate rods....runs too rich.
Looking for someone whos tried the new STREET DEMON.....with Goggle valve.

Check out the web site and the videos they link to.

SWEET CARB, all new design from scratch.....and you can adjust where the vacumn secondaries come in with a screw driver. Not putting in different springs like the Holley

oh   yeah   HOOKER HEADERS 1and 3/4   ceramic coated...........scorpion roller rockers....
Ross forged pistons 10:1 compression
At this altitude you loos one full point of compression......so its like 9:1 at sea level.
Heck with the aluminum heads i shouldve gone with 11 to 1

Spread bore carbs like the Thermoquad and Quadrajet
give excellent velocity with big flushmaster secondaries....

If the 750 Edelbrock is anything like the old 750 Carter they are junk.
No suprises there.

I used to run two Carter Comp series 625 AFB's on several different motors
including a AMC 360 and 390. They worked awesome right out of the box
despite needing a little enrichening on the secondary side during drag race tuning.

Single or dual 750 Carters were a failure.

I was at sea level.

If i could squeeze three of those 625s on a manifold, I would :-)

You won't find many people around who will have anything good to say about the Street Demon, not because it's a bad carburetor, but because thy are all stuck in their old ways for what works for them and this is a new carburetor they've never tried.

"Like a frightened baby chipmunk, you are afraid of anything that is different!" -Jean Girard

Bolt it on and try it for yourself. Here' a secret: 90% of what you read online is biased opinion, meaning take it with a grain of salt.
-------------------------------------------------------

I love the Street Demon. I've never run one, but I've studied them as much as I reasonably could and love the design. If I was the aftermarket carburetor kind of guy, it would be one of two carbs on my list next to the Summit Racing VS.

But I'm not an aftermarket carburetor guy.
