Anyone have any info about this 6 cylinder tach I bought on Ebay? Was told its NOS and looks it. In my 15 years in the AMC hobby, I haven't seen this style tach in a 6 cylinder configuration. Would like to have had it when I had my 6 cylinder 68 Javelin. Anyway, I guess its for 68-70 6 cylinder Javelins? Anybody else have one, or seen one before? Dated May 1967. Thanks.

It says 6 cylinder so it probably is. I think they were mounted in a cup intended to be bolted to the dash, but that one looks like it would fit in the clock/tach hole to the left of the speedo cluster on a Javelin. Joe

It kind of almost sort of looks like the one that was in my Hornet.

These tachs are all pretty much the same internally. How they bolt to the dash and their faces are about the only differences. Cool score! That's probably a pretty rare piece of kit. |

The wiring part is what you may have to figure out. The 6 cylinder tachs are not signal tachs but direct current tachs where the ignition current flows through the tach.
I was watching this item too, because I had not seen a 6 cylinder tach with the AM script and the 'clock' type mount. (I also have a stock tach in my 6 cylinder Hornet.) Let us know how it works for you! Paul |

Only got it because it was so cool. Only bid the minimum and nobody else bid. Didn't really think I'd win. I only have an 8 cylinder car, so as of now I cant use it, but maybe in the future.

Yes, its the same as the V8 tach from 1968 in size and the case is the same. Not interested in selling yet, just got it, but I'll let you know if I do.
