I have a broken "torsion lever" in the transmission. Results in a non-engaged park of the trans and the car is free to roll.

Trans is cast iron, with a Borg/Warner id on the plate number: 37975.

The part is a linkage piece, very small, and made of cast iron.

Any help to locate a source for the part is appreciated!

Pete

If they used that same trans through 65 I have it.
Would need details on exactly what you need.

Right now I can only relay what the mechanic found. It's small, less than 1/2" long. Made of cast iron, I know it's referred to as a "torsion lever" in the TSM. Where in there, I'll know tomorrow. I hope to take a picture of it, too.

The mechanic started when he was 16 with his father, who repaired and traveled to teach repair on transmissions of all types. Between his connections and mine, I'm sure this is a $25 dollar part attached to, perhaps,  6 hours of labor.

Fortunately for us Rambler owners, the transmission comes from Borg/Warner, a major force in that time. Knowledge and parts still exit, but waning knowledge is the real problem.

Regards,
Pete
