 I used the same length with both Johnson and crane lifters, when using shaft rockers there's not much room for variation either.

we used crane pushrods and chevy big block roller lifters we straightened the strap out that holds the lifters together and they fit perfectly

Lifter bores measure okay, about 0.905" with some around 0.9053".

Machine shop phoned several places including Comp Cams. They said they make them 0.903" in diameter even though they advertise 0.904. They don't think the diameter is the problem.

I'm going to order a flat tappet cam like the one that was in it so I can make Cordova. We'll figure out all this roller cam stuff later.

 Could it be because their's are too small? I can tell you definitely that it matters. Bushed lifter bores incteased my oil pressure 10 psi across the board and eliminated the fluctuation too.
