I haven't seen any Ramblers converted from 4 to 2 door yet... 2 door sedans must be fairly low production in comparison to 4 door versions (specifically, 65-66 Classics), but the perceived return on investment of time and labor must make the idea unpalatable. However, I have been offered a rather shabby 2 door sedan as a parts car, and while I LIKE my 4 door, I'd rather have a 2 door..... and the structure of my 4 door is excellent. Lots of other cars get the conversion treatment to create the desired end result; I wonder if any of you guys have considered it? They pop up on the HAMB quite often, even on unibody cars.

YIKES! on closer examination of the potential "donor car" for this conversion, I think my 4 door will STAY in it's current configuration for some while to come. I've seen some real crap boxes, but this one beat all... I may buy some bits and pieces off of it, but by and large, it's truly a parts car and most of those are really beyond the scope of most driveway mechanics. The bottom of the passenger door is pretty much nonexistent; the interior is mostly rotten and full of critter feces.....

Honestly, I can't imagine making a two door out of a four door unless there never was a two door and you are making a one of a kind car. I know one thing, if I bought a two door and found out it was converted that dude who sold it to me would be getting a visit from my lawyer!

But really, I don't want a four door. But a four door is a four door and two door is a two door. If the four door American parts car I had wasn't so rusty I would have fixed it, what the heck, it's a cool old car too, it's just got two doors in back for traction. LOL

pretty sure the vin number would be a dead giveaway if it were converted. and i doubt that the people in this small community wouldn't be aware of a conversion, if it were to come up for sale, and not bring up the point.

I have seen pictures of it done, in addition to One Bad Rambler's great job.  It is your car, do what you like and have some fun and post some pics if you do it.

A member of our club moved the "B" pillar back and put 2-door doors on a 69 wagon. He then filled the rear door area. He used a 2-door post as the donor, even the glass where the rear doors were still rolled down. Pretty cool.
