Interesting thread guys, I too have a BW T-10 in my '72 and it currently has a Ford T-bar shifter and I'm looking for an AMC Hurst original look. So, is the shifter in the pics the correct one? Are the linkages correct. I see ones for sale now and then and I want to have a good idea what the proper unit looks like.

Thanks!!

(we do not offer, long discontinued).

This is why I have not purchased one yet; without the mounting plate and hardware you will not be able to use it. If you have the plate, etc., this shifter would be great.

Here is a mounting plate on ebay now...

Kind of expensive, but like I've stated in the past. If you want to play, it looks like you'll have to pay.

Edit:
I don't see why someone couldn't reproduce these out of aluminum. I know that the initial cost would be kind of expensive, but a good CNC shop could easily reproduce this part.

As far as I can tell, yes. I've never seen a shifter handle welded to the shifter mech. before though. I purchased it just for the linkage to use as a "spare" if ever needed.
There are a few on ebay now, but none of them come with the mounting bracket.

At one time a vender did make the plate and linkage IIRC along with a lot of other one off parts for us.
The bad news the big man up stairs called him back home

That's right... I heard about that through the AMC list. That's been years ago... hasn't? I also heard that all his pieces and parts, dies and tools went up for auction.

Yes it was years ago, good guy and good parts as I have a few on my project Javelin.

I did not hear that of the parts & dies and if true I hope they went to a good home as I have not seen any thing of them yet.

At the time if I had the money and the knowledge of AMC's like he did I would have made an offer but knew I could not do us any good with what I had to work with

Both original hurst shifters in my 2 SC Ramblers and 70 Javelin have a provision on the lower plate for the backup light switch. I do not see it in the pictured one. - JJ

I keep hoping that these will start being reproduced by Hurst due to demand. As more people discover AMC it might just happen.

I think that there's a few things missing on this shifter mech. Once I get to work on my "Demise of Sanity" as I call it. I'll know more. I do know that one of the shifter stops is missing and I'll have to really take a look at that shifter mech. to see if there is a provision for a back up switch. I know that one I have in the Gremlin now does have a provision for one. Found the original installation sheet the other day when I was going through the a bunch of stuff.
