Hi everyone. Just thought I would start the thread for next years show mainly so people can pencil the dates into their calender. It is a weekend later then this year as it will be held on the 18th/19th and 20th March.  There won't be much more other information available until later in the year (the spotlight for 2016 is on Aussie Chargers and for us there will be a spotlight on AMC Hornet's) so until then please enjoy the photo's and information about the 2nd annual show that was held recently on March 13/14/15. Smile

Look out for more information regarding Colin Main organising AMC's at the Shannons American car show in Melbourne in April and Garry Murphy get's a good few AMC's together for Cooly Rocks in QLD mid year. These are 2 other great show's in Australia that showcase some of the AMC/Rambler's in this big brown land of ours Smile

Happy AMC'ing Smile

Hi everyone

I got this email from Garry Murphy up in QLD the other day about the Wintersun festival being revived in that state and now being open to all cars up to 1974 which means most of our AMC's are now eligible Tongue. I reckon the 75 to 78 year cars would have no trouble entering as well because the Matador/Hornet etc are carry on models from the 74 year.
Below is the email from Garry. If you are interested contact him 9if you already have his details) or PM me and I can PM back his email. This makes 3 great shows for our AMC's each year. The Wintersun QLD, Shannons American Car show Melbourne, and of course the AMC/Rambler show as part of Chryslers on the Murray in Albury. Would be great to see evryone's car at least at one of these to show Australia our often forgotten marque. Awesome and I think I need a bit of the old Wintersun down here in Albury at the moment. Cold and raining.

Email from Garry Murphy;
G'day Guys and Girls,

I know for those of us that went to Cooly Rocks On this year it has only
just finished, I know this may be a little early to start thinking about
next year already,

BUT, there will be a old, new player on the scene from next year.

For those of you who don't know Billy Stem (backfire Bill), he is a icon
around the car scene of QLD and has been for many many years.

Bill is now in the process of starting up Wintersun Revival for next year at
the same time as Cooly's is trying to wreck what was a great event.

Wintersun Revival will be held at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast over the same
weekend in June 10, 11, 12, 13. Also as QLD won't have a public holiday on
the Monday next year, I will have to look at what is going on with us a
little more.

Anyway, after the debar cal of the booking in and the fact that we couldn't
park near each other and I didn't feel the atmosphere there anymore, We and
Rebel Mick (19 years this year for Mick) are ready to jump ship and go with
Bill to Broadbeach to get the whole weekend and event back to what it was
all about not that long ago. There will be no allocated spots so back to the
fun of parking where you want, and there will be NO cut of amount of cars.
Bill had been instrumental in getting Cooly's up to well over 2000 cars and
he wants that back and will get it. He will also be putting the music back
in the streets as it was. He had 50 to 80 bands at any one time in the early
days.

What I have attached is a "expression of interest form" for anyone that may
think about going, I would urge you to please fill this out and send to Bill
either by post or email ASAP. This will ensure that he has the numbers to
sustain the effort (at the moment Bill has over 500 already confirmed).

The cut off year for cars will be 1974 (I will work with others that are
close to this and get them in also).

We will be cancelling our accommodation at Twin Towns Resort and I will do
some quick research when I can get the exact precinct sorted.

The area it will be in is right on the beach just out from Jupitors Casino.

As more info comes to light I will advise more but as for now, WE WILL BE AT
BROADBEACH NEXT YEAR FOR WINTERSUN....

Talk soon,
Garry

 Hi everyone
It feels good to be out of the winter hibernation. Hope you all got through winter aok. The new posters/entry forms have been printed for next years show. Copies will be sent out automatically to previous entrants. If you havn't recieved one let me know and I can send you one. Anyone else that would like a copy just PM me with your address and I will get one out to you asap so you can enter for one of the biggest AMC shows in Australia and join in the fun and show our cars off to the huge crowd that frequents this event now in its 24th year.
Western red will be popping a copy of the poster up soon for me on this thread (thanks again mate. Thats another 6 pack ready in the fridge for you). Everyone let me know what you think of it Smile
I will start to keep everyone up to date on this thread again so if you are also on facebook or in a club please feel free to pass any of this thread info/pics etc onto your site and/or club and/or friends.
It would be really amazing to reach 50 AMC/Ramblers in the one spot next year. And after the interest in last years show (I had 63 vehicles express interest and on my radar) I really think it is easily achievable and again will be a lot of fun Tongue Talk soon. Jason (70Hornet)

PS On a sad note the slotcar track closed down a couple of months ago so Mick wont be able to defend his title Smile

Also the cruise on the saturday arvo is out to the old, and the original now re-opened, Ettamogah pub which will be awesome as heaps easier parking and much better atmosphere then the Kinross was on the saturday arvo.

Show poster is out.

The show is being advertised as part of what is called the "Mopar Marathon Trip" which takes in "Chrysler by the Bay" in VIC March 13, COTM in Wodonga VIC March 18/19/20 and SA "All Chrysler day" March 26/27, anybody up for a mega road trip.

The Hornet is an artists version of Rob Mackays 73 that was in the Australian Muscle car magazine but with clear blinkers and different wheels:

Hi everyone. Not much to report at the moment as still 4 months away from the show. Although amazingly we do already have 10 Javelin/AMX's confirmed that I know of for the show with another 6 maybe's including a couple of surprises. There is also 6 Hornets already confirmed including possibly a registered hatchback. Also a real nice and angry 401ci Rebel. A mint near new low mileage Classic, a nice matador sedan to name a few. Gordon may have his 1902 Rambler replica on hand at the show too which will be an interesting car to look at. Clem Smith is bringing not 1, not 2 but 3 cars over from Adelaide incuding his beautiful 1970 Australian Javelin which is regarded as one of the most original left as well as a mint Classic Cross Country wagon and a nice American sedan. Not bad still with 4 months to go. If anyone would like an entry form just PM me and I can get one out to you. Hope everyone is well. Jason Tongue

'Mrs Javelin' Dianne Wilson and her son Ray will be venturing up for the 3rd annual AMC/Rambler show in March with their Javelins. For those unaware Dianne runs the Australian AMX/Javelin register for Australian assembled cars and imported cars. She has been doing this since the early 80's and it will be great to have her and Ray up for the show to chat to. The Javelin website is www.amcjavelinregisteraustralia.com and well worth a look with some history on the Australian models and a list of those that still survive plus plenty more. If you have a Javelin or AMX, or are looking at finding one to purchase, she would be a great person to talk to and possibly find out more about your car or at the very least add it to the register.

We have 10 confirmed Javelin/AMX's so far. Plus another 6 maybe's. There are 22 confirmed AMC/Ramblers all up in general which is pretty amazing still with just under 4 months to go. It will be a great weekend and remember it isnt just about the car show as there are lots of other things going on, and things to see, in and around the Albury/Wodonga region which is why most people make a bit of a holiday out of it and take 2 or more days to soak it all up.

I am really looking forward to it again and if we can get 50 AMC's in the one spot that would really show Australia that AMC/Rambler's are still here and being used. If you want to be a part of it just contact the Chryslers on the Murray through their website or you can PM me and I can send you an entry form. If your car only comes out a handful of times a year you should give it the run it deserves and we will see you at the 3rd annual Australian AMC/Rambler show Smile

Hi everyone

The Chryslers on the Murray now has its own "Official" facebook page now https://www.facebook.com/chryslersonthemurrayofficial/ . Feel free (actually I encourage everyone) to send through any AMC/Rambler related photo's and information related to the show to share with the Chrysler community and tell them how much you appreciate the organisers letting us run our own show within their show. They really have bent over backwards for me and given me near free reign to do as we please. Put up things such as IE photo's of your car that will be at the show, or from one of the 2 previous shows with a comment on what you thought of the show, enquiries, suggestions, or whatever people usually put up on facebook pages etc. I will still only put information up on this forum (I cant spread myself over all the mediums) and I also encourage everyone to share info on this forum with others via facebook pages, club newsletters, emails etc so everyone is in the loop about the AMC/Rambler show Smile.

Have a fun Christmas (which is how it should be but always seems so busy!!!). So relax with your AMC in the shed and talk soon

Hi everyone
Hope you all have a safe and fun xmas and new year. And maybe even get some work done on your AMC. I probably wont add much until after the New Year. We have an AMX booked in for the track day part of the show on the friday which will be good to watch (free entry for spectators).

Also please feel free to advertise the show on your facebook pages, newsletters, personal emails etc, friends, maybe even have a chat to the neighbours dog to spread the word for ALL AMC enthusiasts (and potential enthusiasts) whether owners of an AMC or an AMC spectator just interested in looking at our rare cars. Apparently there is a few websites devoted to Car Shows and dates which anyone out there can put the details on if you want or send me the details and I will put it on. This show is our chance to shine Smile

I know it seems to get soooo busy this time of year but stop and smell the roses...I mean AMC in your shed and enjoy this time of year like you were a kid Smile

Talk soon
