Hi guys. I just built a 390 engine and just by trying to start it up it has over a 100 psi oil pressure. This can't be good. Anyone no why.

I would check that the pressure relief valve is put in right and not stuck. It's the large nut on the side of the oil filter adapter.

Are you using an oil pump midplate? I've seen some that have the overpressure passage shape not match up with the pump cover.
