ive always been iffy on n20 because it just seems like with my luck id end up blowing up my engine, haha, and if i put a decent shot of n20 through, id prob need to get rid of my cast iron block and get an aluminum because it would crack with 800ish horse id imagine. idk though. how much you think an alum block would go for on a 390, id guess like 2,000 or so.

Indy aluminum blocks are around 5K...but I think you can handle 175 horse kit and still keep the walls in your iron block...I am confused on "What to do to it"...sounds like you have done plenty...when you do get up around 750-800 horsepower you may want to think about four bolt caps...maybe short filling the block with hardener...also depending on which aluminum heads you have there are guys out there puching the envelope on port work...also I hope you have done some neat stuff to the oiling system

Sounds like your not familiar with what you have now?
If not, and you know more, please share,
What's it run now?
What are you looking for?
What's the compression ratio?
What tranny? Stall ( if automatic )?
What gear? Tires?
What are you 60' times, 1/8, and 1/4 et's?
MPH in the 1/8 or 1/4?
What cam, Lift / duration?
Are your aluminum heads ported?

Where are you looking to go? 11's, 10's, 9's , etc.?

Seen many with what could be referred to as a radical build, but the combo. did not
work out for one or more reasons.
Seen them with the Dominator, Roller cams, or a radical solid flat tappet, etc. only to see them fall way short in the end because things were correctly matched up. Sounded great in a parking lot, but when the time comes to put the rubber down, they fell short, sometimes, way short.
A bit more on the specific's of what your starting with, and where you want to go would help others give more insightful recommendations, then just through No2 at it?

Years ago there was a guy that showed up in K-town AMO show event ,with a Jav/AMX that had a blower, looked great, sound pretty good pulling into Andy's, but on Sunday at the Namdra meet ( back when ) , this car,  I believe ran a best of High 12's? The guy was claiming the car would run in the 9's, but had not had a chance to run it on the track yet?

Sorry for the long drwan out commentary, but thought it might fit here?

I tried NO on my  70 390 with forged Venolias and stock rods & crank.  It was a 200 hp under carburator set up.  It was great,  couldn't use in first gear would just lite the tires.  As soon as second gear engauged pressed the fun button and had the seat wrap around me a little more.  I only ran it for one weekend then took it off.  Felt like I was cheating,  I like racing peoples engines not some laughing gas.
