Since the 304 and the 360 use the same crank does that mean they are balanced the same and use the same flexplate? Thanks Wayne

No, different balencers and weights are different on flex plates. Can't mix and match unless you rebalance the assembly.

Afraid of that. Most places ie Summit, ATP and APD all list the 304 and the 360 as the same part number

No. Different balance....I found that out but using a 304 flywheel on a 360......vibrated....

I suspected that and sent my new 304 flexplate up to the machine shop with a known 360 plate and they match balanced it

Doug at APD and the folks at ATP both say for 72 to 74 the flexplates for the 304 and 360 are the same. Guess I will go to my local ole time tranny shop and see what they say. I hope they do interchange as I have the 304 flexplate but it would be a real B***h if I got it together and it vibrated.
