It took a long time to clean  / fix .  Painting was just a 1 hour job .
Now it s black satin . The engine will be red and chrome / polished aluminium .
Still working .
I think I will use a Megasquirt and injection .
For sure this will be the only 232 supercharged / injected :P

No more car :)
Maybe a 1965 Ambassador Coupé someday .. If I can find a cheap one.

Another idea.
I think I could press the teeths from stainless or cast in aluminium .

The project has been waiting for a long time, but now I m very rich and can have the engine rebuild :)
Well ... It s my own Chrismas gift in fact, I m still poor ....

A few things have changed since the last post I made here.
I really don t like the look of the blower with a carb.
And the Eaton looks too modern.

So the new idea is making another intake, since my metalcasting skills are better, and use 3 Rochester B carb with TBI.
I m building a Gingery lathe, this will help.
I plan to use mini TBI injectors from a Blaser on the top of 2 carbs, and the IAC on the third.
So it will look vintage, I can relocate the Eaton but with a modern system and less detonation problems.
Still planning to use Megasquirt.

According to Forest advice, I plan to use a Comp Cams cam, but unfortunatelly I deleted the PM :(

So ... I have to go to the machine shop tomorrow .
Final plan :
Stock trans ( already rebuilt), stock pistons, 5 or 6 psi of boost, dual exhaust, TBI injection.

Is it worth using ARP bolts for rods or head ?
If so, they are not listed on the ARP catalog for a 232. Are they the same as the 258 or the 4.0 ?

Here s the kind of intake I plan to build.

Thanks .

Looks like someone fell in love with acorn nuts.

A lot of carbs,  when you consider the 4 little bitty intake runners.

Would that happen to be a aftermarket intake for your 38 Buick ?

No. it s just a picture I found on The Hamb. I don t think there s been Buick intake like this one, but who knows ?
I t s just an intake I like and is a source of inspiration to build one like this for the Rambler.
And being two parts, it s quite easy to build.
BTW, the engine I have for the Buick is a 1951 263, instead of the 1938 248. Modern crank bearing, instead of babbit, and a lot of small improvements.
In fact, I plan to have a similar setup later on the Buick, with a Paxton. The 232 is a mock up. I prefer to break a 232 , learning, than a rare 263 :P
Here s what I plan to do with the Buick : (this is a Gimp, there s no Photoshop on Linux :P )

And yes, the mags are Minilite like the austin Mini Cooper ....

But so .... ARP bolt or not ?
