I know the pictures are ugly .  I used my video recorder since my APN is dead .
I have no idea for the collector . Any ideas ?
In a perfect world , runners would be the same lenght , Helmotz would be my best friend and 1  5/8 Edelbrook pipe would be about the same size as Jeep 1 5/8 :P
We don t live in a perfect world ...
Quite sure this can t be worst than the stock one .
As a big lesson of humility , this work make me think I really have to improve my welding skills :P

Maybe a 1965 Ambassador Coupé someday .. If I can find a cheap one.

So any ideas for the collector ?
I plan 2 inches and 10 inches long .
Then  1 3/4 pipe and Cherry Bomb or Magna . On both side .
Am I correct ?
Took information from Jeep  235 Ford and Slant forums ....

Look for slip fit collector to exhaust reducers.
You will possibly need 3.5" down to the 2" and that may be hard to find.
Close the 3 tubes together with a flat plate in the center with C notches.
Then form the reducer to be welded on the end of the pipes.
You need to plan very carefully so that you can weld all areas.
Don't get in a hurry or you may need to cut it apart and weld spots that you can't reach.
For a 232 your pipe sizes should be fine.

Well .... I m not sure I understand .
I can build / bent the pipe for 3 to 1 .
What I mean is , unless I misunderstood , exhaust / headers have 4 parts . The primary pipes ( mine are 1 5/8 ) , then a collector , quite large , where the pipes meet together ,  and than the exhaust pipe with a muffler .
I think the collector size has a great influence on torque . I think mine will be 2 or 2/12 OD , and 10 inches long . Then the exhaust pipe can be smaller , I think 1 1/2 ou 1 3/4 . Remenber it s a dual exhaust , so only 3 cylinder will flow  on each side .
I m sure this is important , I changed my exhaust from stock size to 2 1/2 and I lost a lot of torque :)
So I just wonder is anyone has experience with exhaust .
I m really not sure of the size I have to use . But maybe I m wrong ?
BTW , if I use 1 5/8 , it s because the Jeep header use 1 5/8 , so I just modify it to fit the 232 :)
Good advice for planning , I had to cut / weld already hidden places :P
It s quite brain consumig , and I hate thinking ....

Not sure to understand what a split fit collector is ......
But I got pipe from Canadian Tire , I just have to heat it and this should be correct .

Toujours work in progress ,
The SBC pipe is 1 mm from the 1 5/8 I got .  This may not make a big difference .
I still have to improve my welding skills ... Farna , there s place enough between 3 and 4 , good news . With a  Mig . Just have to take care , but I let about 1 inches pipe after cutting  the flange , this  help .
Know this is not correct but you may understand :(
I had bad choices , and not so good results , so it s not perfect . but , not so bad I think .
Too lazy to rebuild all . First time I do headers , ans used parts are not the easy choice :P But cheap .

Toujours photos pourries , dsl .

Si j arrive a faire entrer la dedans autant que ca peut sortir , ca devrai flow assez pour l exhaust :P

Post the same thing on 2 forums , but been too lazy to translate .
You may understand :P

Took me 6 hours . Next one should take 2 hours ...
A lot of hammering , thinking , welding , measuring , sitting and smoking ....

Scrap picture ....

I've got a really thin 258 head gasket I could send you if you'd rather not mill the head, Forest will have to tell you what it's good for because I don't know.
