Let's say you had your 258 rebuilt and you're gonna run it for break in.

Vacuum advance hooked up or plugged ?
Pcv hooked up or plugged?
Weber 38 set to initial tuning or make it rich cause we want gas?
Static timing set where...8*btdc? Maybe 10 or 12?

Floor the throttle when cranking, part throttle or leave it closed to start?

(Obviously this is my first rebuild break in)

Normal functioning procedure with vac advance hooked up, PCV plumbed correctly and tuned just slightly rich for safety. Timing probably depends on fuel grade more than anything but you do you. I'm thinking this should be driven normally for like 20 minutes. I would be doing a flat 2000-2200 run for cam break-in just because my setup is like a combined distance vehicle and jobber.

P.s. It's a hot rod, driving normally is rumored a no-no for the first 100 miles or so. I've heard I drive it like a granny and keep it under 60mph. I might break the heck out of something driving the way I normally drive.
