They have polyurethane bushings in them. They will transfer a bit more engine vibration to the chassis than stock mounts would, but should be fine with a smooth running engine.

If i were to put in the 360 v8, would i have to upgrade the front springs? I assume it will sit slightly lower at the front...

Nope, you should be fine. That old 195.6 is heavy! The 232 is only about 150 pounds less than the V-8, the 196 closer to 75 pounds under the V-8. So for a cruiser you will be okay with the springs. The car WILL handle better with a bit stiffer springs though. Personally, I'd install as is, change the springs later if you don't like the ride/handling.
