So I recently bought a oem fan shroud off of a 77 6cyl hornet for my 76 232 sportabout. Forgive me if I'm missing something I'm completely new to AMC but how the heck do I mount this thing to the rad? Confused

it mounts to the rad with four 5/16" head screws. You will have to remove the fan first.  gz

The screws go in the side brackets of the radiator. It's tricky to get the fan on, with the shroud on, without gouging up the radiator fins/tubes. So take your time!

Make sure you have the 6 cylinder shroud...brackets on left and right sides are different lengths. (V8 shroud brackets are equal on both sides.)

Yep, as the owner of two 1977 Hornets I can tell you the plastic shroud just screws to the radiator brackets. Most radiators are already drilled for the screws.

I have gone through his on a chevy. Take the fan off. Place the shroud over the water pump pulley. Reinstall the fan. Lastly attach the shroud. This way your not fighting to get the fan on with the shroud in the way.
