Can anyone point me into the right direction of someone who might have an A/C compressor bracket for a 1974 Javelin with a 232ci motor.  It sits on the drivers side above the altenator.  Compressor is a york I believe.

All the AMC six AC brackets sit in that position. The 70s models have the alternator bracket made onto the bottom of them, but you should be able to use one of those without the alt bracket if you want to.

And I'm wrong!! Was just looking for someone else. 68-74 six cylinder AC compressor brackets have the compressor on the LEFT side of the engine (driver's side). All others (earlier and later) mount the compressor on the RIGHT side. There was an idler pulleys on the 64-67 setups that bolted in place of a power steering pump if PS wasn't used to control belt tension. This is separate from the compressor bracket.

Frank, do you have any pictures of this setup? I've spent months looking at my brackets trying to figure out how to make them work. I have the alt/ac setup, but I'm not moving my alt to the passenger side. The compressor mount is easy, it's the belt tensioning I can't seem to figure out.

Here are all the 64-80s 199/232/258 AC compressor brackets. Any of the systems can be used on any year as long as all components are used. There may be some issues using the 75+ system on earlier engines as the water pump changed. The 75+ water pump has one or two mounting "ears" on it that the earlier pumps won't have. The water pumps should interchange. The serpentine belt 81+ cars don't use the idler wheels. The bracket itself may have a different offset than the v-belt brackets for the Sanden compressor and may not work with a V-belt system without modification. If you want to use a Sanden compressor I suggest you order an adapter bracket (under $50 - http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/air-conditioning/york-compressor-adapter-plate-universal-mount-177.php) and use the York factory bracket as the adapter can be adjusted to align the belt. Otherwise you may have to grind/file the mounting "ears" on the factory bracket and use washers to properly align the compressor.
