I'm working on something special.  I hope to announce it in the next day or two.

I have some exciting news.  The Friday tour has been arranged.  We are going to the "Uncle Phil" Maloof car collection and home.  The car collection is one of the largest in Las Vegas.  His home is unlike anything I've every seen.  I toured the collection and home a few weeks ago with the Studebaker Club and it was awesome!  His website is www.unclephilmaloof.com if you want to check it out.  It's about a 25 minute drive from the hotel and it's an easy drive.  The plan is to depart from the hotel at 10:15.  The tour will start at 11:00am.  I will probably leave a little bit earlier so I'm there when our group arrives.  Including travel time, it should take around three hours.  You don't want to miss this!

We are going to try something new this year.  My two daughters are going to walk around the show field with a video camera.  One will be the videographer and the other will be the interviewer.  Be prepared to talk about your car.  We hope to show the finished video at the awards presentation.  If it turns out well, we will be able to have copies made for a small fee.

The show t-shirts are done and they look great!

If you are planning on coming but haven't pre-registered or booked your hotel room yet, I strongly urge you to do so now.  Rooms are going quickly.

The Friday BBQ will be at a different park in Boulder City.  It's called Bicentennial Park and it's very nice.  The park includes restroom facilities, a playground if anyone brings their kids, a large gazebo and several picnic tables that we can use.  The exact start time is yet to be determined but the BBQ should start shortly after we return from the tour.

I just saw the weather forecast for show weekend and it couldn't be better!  High of 77 each day with 0% precipitation and 7mph wind.  Perfect weather!

Since we are not having a dinner after the awards presentation, the hotel is offering a BBQ that will be available during the show.  I'm don't know what will be on the menu or what the prices will be.

Don't forget the great tour we're taking on Friday.  We are leaving the hotel at 10:15am sharp so please be at your vehicle by 10:00am.  Directions to the collection and then back to the park will be distributed.

I have bad news and really exciting news.  First the bad news.  The helicopter is back operating from the hill at the end of the parking lot.  The largest helicopter tour operator in Vegas bought the little company that was there.  Now for the really exciting news.  I've arranged for discounted rates for a couple of the tours.  I'll have brochures and discount coupons available at registration.  If you've never been on a helicopter, now's your chance.

We have close to 50 pre-registered cars.  It's going to be great!

Time off work isn't an option right now. The money for the flight and hotel is already allocated for a trip to Cuba later this month. My annual pilgrimage east with the AMX costs a lot and this keeps the MRS happy  :)
