I'm sure there are some forum members who have been wondering why there hasn't been any mention of the 2016 Las Vegas AMC Reunion/AMCRC Southwest Regional.  Rest assured the show will take place. The dates are November 4-5. We're just not sure where it will be held.  My connection at Railroad Pass was let go a couple of months ago.  I met his replacement and discovered that he is a car guy and really likes our show.  We had a great conversation and I thought everything was good to go.  I was about ready to make the official announcement when I received a disappointing email.  It was from the new executive director who informed me that the new owner has decided that he wants to start construction of the Railroad Pass truck stop in the very near future and the entire upper parking lot (aka show field) would be closed.  In an email I received today he indicated that it likely will happen before November.  It looks like we have no choice but to find another venue for the show.  We will be looking at a few locations and I hope to have an announcement by the end of the month.  Stay tuned.

Sorry to hear about the bad news, Markie.  I know that it puts more pressure on you to find another venue while keeping costs down.

However, it could be just what the club and the show participants need.

The RR Pass Hotel is in desperate need of renovation and has been for decades, possibly.
That, and the unhealthy smokey atmosphere makes me glad there will be a new
(and hopefully healthier) venue for 2016.

Despite a possible increase in hotel/registration prices, I will be there because it's a worthwhile show that brings people near and far together for the common AMC purpose.

Keep us updated on what accomodations you find.

Still a show I want to get down to! Maybe this is the year?!?!?! I stopped at RR a couple of years ago while in Vegas and it definitely needs a MAJOR renovation!

We stayed at RR in 2014, but for 2015 my girlfriend said if I wanted her to go with me we had to stay somewhere else, lol.  So, we got an apartment in Henderson on Air BnB for about $80 per night and it was great.

News flash, AMC fans:

Spoke with the RR Pass personnel yesterday and the room renovations are nearly completed.

I'm pleased to announce that the 2016 Las Vegas AMC Reunion is a go!  The dates are November 4-5. The most exciting news is the show has a new home, the Hoover Dam Lodge (www.hooverdamlodge.com).  The Lodge is located just minutes from Hoover Dam and is the only hotel inside the Lake Mead National Recreation Area plus you get a great view of Lake Mead.  The entire property was remodeled a little over a year ago and it's beautiful inside and out.  It's the perfect venue for a car show.

Because of its location and the fact that it's a considerable upgrade from the previous home of the show, room rates will be somewhat higher (the guest rooms are very nice).  They are:

Standard Room Rates:
Mid Week (Sunday through Thursday) $65
Weekend (Friday and Saturday) $85

Deluxe Room Rates:
Mid Week (Sunday through Thursday) $85
Weekend (Friday and Saturday) $105

You are strongly encouraged to book your rooms as soon as possible.  The code is AMC2016 (you must mention the code to get the discounted rates).  Call 1-800-245-6380 to make your reservation.

If you want to take a look at the Lodge, check out their website.  I'm quite sure you'll like what you see.

By the way, flyers for the show will be sent out in the next few days and I will have them at the upcoming Cactus Cruisers show in Phoenix next weekend.

We'll see you in November!
