I can only speculate about the color change but it is pretty feasible considering the history of the AMX. At that time is was pretty easy to stalk a Playmate who had a car in a rare easy to spot color. It appears once the change was made they never went back. The only other cars I know of that were painted pink as a giveaway are the Mary Kay cosmetic cars. They also went away from pink on the more recent cars I have seen. It is also an additional expense to have a car painted in a non-standard color as well as the lead time needed to do it. Even the AMX in the Playboy spread is only a quick repaint since the real car wasn't ready yet. It seams that since they know who got what car over the years, a reunion is possible if any of the other cars survived.

Had a few maintenance issues with the Hemi/Javelin and it's at the alignment shop right now but should be done in plenty of time to head to Cali today.

For those that missed the show, it, IMO, was one of the best shows in that location Mark has produced. Around 40-50 cars (est.), great pizza for lunch, and, of course, the pink AMX.  Looked great and sounded good, too, when Mark started her up.  Best of show was a very pretty Marlin.  However, the best part of the show wasn't anything mentioned--the people.  Many of whom I already knew and hadn't seen in awhile and some new peeps as well.  Cars and shows don't occur without people who are committed to the hobby.

I would like to say "THANK YOU" to Mark and the othes that helped organize the So. CA. AMC show this year. It was really nice to see some great AMC cars from back in the-day all get together to enjoy a sunny So. California day.

The Playboy pink AMX looks even better in person than it does in all the pictures!!!! Great Job on that project Mark!! I saw that car when it was brand new, but the last time I saw the Playboy AMX was the day before Mark bought it off of the little used car lot in Marina Del Rey, and boy what a sad sight that was! For sure, Mark was the right guy to get a hold of that car!! It looks awesome!!!!!!!

Thanks again for a great So. CA. AMC car day!!!!
