< ="utf-8">Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my carburetor on my Marquis (note, I did not say "Grand," as it is not a "Grand Marquis"). It has the "Mileage Maker" 3.3L Inline-6, with a single barrel Motorcraft E3SE carb. The choke plate does not close as it should, it only does a slight flutter when I push the throttle/accelerator, but I can manually shut the plate when I have the throttle pushed down. I understand that it may just be a linkage screw missing/stripped, but I heard it may be the floats as well. Any idea what it could be?
Also, if there's a link to somewhere with literature on my specific carb so I can (if needed) do a rebuild on it successfully, that'd be awesome if I could nab that, too. Thanks!

If it indeed is an E2SE I have the factory (rochester) manual for that carb.   PM me with your email address and I'll scan the whole manual for you (about 15 pages).   I used to have one on a Spirit with the Iron Duke.  Joe

Try asking on the FordSix forum -- www.fordsix.com. They may be able to provide more help.

ditto.  This is a good site, and a lot of 'car knowledge' translates to other makes, but technicalities of a certain carb is more of a specialty thing.  Head on over to the fordsix website and I'm sure someone there can help.

The generic 'hotrodders' websites have more sbc/sbf info than you can ever read through, but the inline engines and stuff are more niche items.  Even the old thriftmaster/taskmaster/jobmaster/whatever Chevrolet inline sixes.
