Cool. Thanks.

Glad to help,
hope the OP comes back to continue the thread.

This is what they look like,
low RPM Torque intakes,
kind of Holley's take on filling the SP2P nich

It's an AMC intake I've never personally owned,
some of the Jeep guys swear by them, others swear at them LOL

Interesting none the less. Smile

Text describing intake destails from old auction in case it goes away, or ebay changes the link like they always do:

Quote This is a brand new Holley 300-31Z street Dominator that fits AMC engines. It has never been mounted or run. It was designed by Zora Arkus Duntov of Corvette and Ardun heads fame. Duntov was responsible for all the improvements that made Corvettes the legend that they are today. Ardun heads are the most sought after heads for flathead Fords in the universe. Sets have sold for over $20k. The man really knew what he was doing. Holley hasn't produced these in quite a long while. It was cast at the famous Winters Foundry and there's a close up picture of the Winters snowflake logo.

It it is a split plenum, single plane design will a shallow plenum, small runner design that enhances low end torque while maintaining a strong mid range like a Streetmaster. As a bonus, you get improved gas milage, as long as you keep your big foot off the throttle. The low end improvement will amaze you and show a huge improvement at those little stop light bashes. While Holley didn't say so, in my opinion the ports are too small for any of the bigger displacement AMC engines. I wouldn't recommend it for anything bigger than a 360. It would be perfect on a 304. The bolt pattern is the later dogleg design. If you're going to use it on early heads, you're going to have to “ovalize” the center bolt holes using a gasket as a pattern. All the AMC gaskets are cut to accommodate both patterns.

It is designed to work with EGR valves. It you have to run EGR, it's ready to go. If you don't need EGR, just install 2 expansion (freeze) plugs in the EGR ports to block them off. It also comes with the choke block off shown in the last couple of pictures.

Not quite true. I posted a comment (of course I would seeing my love for these little cars) but it didn't show up. And when I hit the back arrow to go back to the last page, all posts disappeared as did my PMs to Billd and e-mails too. I want to see your progress.

Anyway, it is a cool car especially with the V-8. But knowing my luck, all bad, with every Spirit I have owned, I doubt there is another one in my future.

I've never heard of that intake. I bet sliding a performer cam in there would help things along as well..... Just sayin'.   Andy

my high school spirit amx had that intake with basic "rv" style cam and dual exhaust. It ran great (as good as I needed at that point life for sure!) Keep up the good work Tom!
