So I picked up this Humpster late Tuesday of last week.  Backed her off the trailer and into the gas station... broke the hood release handle to check my fluids before driving to my house.  Great job huh.  Had her in my possession 5 minutes and already breaking stuff.  And of course at some point when I moved her from the lawn to the driveway the hood shut fully so I can't get it open. *sigh*

Paint has some chips and runs from where it was repainted and they did a horrible job.  Some minor dings, but nothing major as far as I can tell, some surface rust here and there.  Looks like there might be some bondo on the top of one of the fenders.  Vinyl top was removed for painting and never put back on, luckily it came with all that trim and all the trim around the windows.  I've got an extra Javelin emblem that is smaller than the rest and I can't figure out where it goes.  Hood, trunk and interior emblems are there, plus the 2 from the vinyl top.

The dash is destroyed from someone trying to put an aftermarket head unit in it, dang kids.  I guess the original owner's grandkids got a hold of it and did all this stuff.

I'm hoping to do most of the stuff myself, or at least have a hand in it all.  I have some experience from my 1988 K5 Blazer that I did the engine and paint on.  Along with replacing various things.

I'm gonna get some real camera pics today.  My camera died while I was out of town and couldn't find the charger yesterday.  Hopefully these ones aren't too big.  If so I'll resize them

Edit:  Oops forgot to upload this pic.  I was having some trouble figuring out the interior code, hoping y'all could help me.  Is the interior supposed to be white?

I used to have a 73-1/2 Javelin... not sure on making out the numbers, but the seats appear to be stock, black corduroy... correction white corduroy? In 73 the seat changed and also the pattern to go along with it. Previous patterns had a full corduroy bottom and back to the seats, while the vinyl was on the lower and side trim. So it looks very stock.

Gosh, this was answered not log ago... I think instead of me seeing the seats as faded... more like the seats are extremely dirty.

So yes, you have a white interior... well white seat option. Just never seen one pictured until now.

PS. I thought when told about this option, that having such an option would be kind of odd and not so pleasing to the eye. When seeing it from your pictures, I have have made a turn around on my thoughts. It is actually nice with an interesting twist on black interior. Don't know how rare it is, but it does fit in with the red and black interior 1 year option that you don't often see.

Good luck with your new restoration project!

Would love to see the back seats if they still are intact. Thanks!

It's interesting (to me at least) that it came off of the West assembly line.   At least earlier in their life cycle, Javelins were built on the East assembly line.  Joe

That makes sense, all the sites I found that broke the door tag down confused me.  After you said they might be dirty I tried to use some cleaner and make it white, but couldn't.  I'll keep trying though.  Back seats are mostly intact, I think the backing is cracked though.

Excuse all the trim

Mkay, I can stop looking around for random holes now.

Here's the travesty that happened to the dash.  Makes me cry.

OUCH Ouch
Not knowing how it looks not cut into, it is hard to say what it would take to get it back to stock so may be worth looking into a newer (thats what it looks like why it was cut into) radio to fill the opening and finish it off to look better.

Been there, done that, had that heartburn. I found another sub-structure that was broken up except for the radio area. I cut that area out and glued it into the orginal sub-structure. Then I managed to chase down another wood-grain fascia. The worst part was who ever did the hack job even cut into part of the gauge cluster. I had to replace that too.

The end result turned out pretty sweet. Too bad it was not my car, It was one I work on for someone else.
