Another problem solved.........congratulations.
I'll follow these lines a little ways more,

Until I can find what I'm looking for.

With the pedal to the metal,

I'm gaining my speed.

Riding down low in my AMC.....

I would of fired it up and set the timing...
But...
At 11:00 at night on Sunday...
My neighbors would really-really love me then.
Only difference is the black box was replaced with a red box and the Unilite dizzy.

Windshield tomorrow afternoon and I am hoping for exhaust work this coming weekend. All depends of if the guy can get the stuff to do it with. He doesn't know if he can because of the lock down. We will see.

Can't remember where I got the rearview mirror from. I'm thinking eBay, but not sure. It's a nice piece of billet aluminum and I have had it for quite a few years.

And the windshield is finally in.

Anyone know off the top of their heads if it's 14" or 15" wiper blades on the small bodied cars..??

Have a slight problem which is nothing new to me.
I haven't fired this up yet and set timing. I wanted to wait till I got a priming tool for the oil pump. That came today, so I went and turned the motor to TDC and pulled number 1 plug to make sure that I was at TDC. Pulled the unilite and primed up the oil pump.
I switched out my dual point for the unilite and wired up the MSD box (for those not following along with "the demise of my sanity" ) I switched the dizzy gear on the dual point to the unilite and I think that I might have something wrong when I set the end gap. I set it at .015 and I think that it should be quite a bit shallower the .015. The reason being is after I primed the oil pump and went to drop the unilite back in. It acts like the dizzy gear goes past the cam gear. All the dizzy does is spin on the oil pump shaft. It's not catching the cam gear..
So, I am thinking that I had better shallow up the end gap on the dizzy but to what end gap should I set it to..??
How much of the dizzy gear actually rides on or catches on the cam gear..??
If I set the end gap to .006, will that be enough to catch the cam gear?
Or should I shorten the end gap even more..??
I looked at the directions on line and the new dizzys come with gear attached. So there's no instructions on how much to set the end gap.

Early Gremlins used 16" blades, later (78) went to 18. Same arm.  If your motor and bushings in the assembly are good, go with the 18s, as they really clear a lot more glass.  if the motor or the arms under the cowl are kinda iffy, stick with the 16s as they don't create as much drag on the hardware.

Mean while, back in the garage, we got things figured out. And I probably didn't have to do what I did, but I did it anyways.
When I stated that it felt like that the dizzy gear was just falling past the cam gear, and just spinning freely around on the oil pump drive...
Well, it was.

I turned the dual point into a Unilite. I swapped all the guts from one to another. You have to use a puller to get the lobe off the shaft. Once that is accomplished, the plate drops right in and then everything goes back together.
