The Hornet always had a bit more of an "upscale" grille than the Gremlin IMHO... the later Hornets were even nicer than the early models. A real game changer in some cases, like the Cowboy pickup prototype. The only one in existence was upgraded by a previous owner with a 74 Hornet front clip. That makes it look more like a Ranchero/ElCamino competitor than a mini truck competitor. The 71 Gremlin front end it was originally built with makes it look more truck-like.

Been following your build thread for a while. Looking great! Car is
coming together nicely. Maybe I missed it, but what tilt steering column did you use in it? Keep up the good work!

You may want to throw some weight in the front of the car to get it closer to ride-height, then check it again.

I took the Cooper's back and had to purchase the BF's.
Goodrich seems to be the only tire company that makes the 205's in a raised white letter that I could find here in my town. Cost me a little bit more. Kept the same size in the rear. I used a tilt column from a 80 and up AMC product. The reason I say that is because I am not really sure what make its out of but I do know its from 1980 and up. I had to swap the bottom steering column shaft as there is a difference between power and manual steering. |

That car is looking awesome William! I hope you are taking some time to sit back and enjoy it despite the frustrations you’ve had. You are so close!

Looks great. You'll be riding around town before you know it........

I'll follow these lines a little ways more,
Until I can find what I'm looking for. With the pedal to the metal, I'm gaining my speed. Riding down low in my AMC..... |
