Thank you... One thing that I have learned with this, over the past "couple" of years, is patients... Like this... After a wet sand of 600 then 1000 grit, the drivers side jam was ready for a cover up... At first glance it looked really nice. Went and cleaned the gun and I felt that I did a good job. 10 minutes later I looked at it again and ARRRRGGGG...!!! The good... I got the spot cleared up and it took the paint...!!! |

Yay... Next step is to get it down off the rotisserie and paint the rear bumper area and the front where it attaches. More battles ahead...!! |

Back seat is done.
The silver is a carbon fiber weave pattern... Door panels will be paneled along the bottom in the same stuff. I will be picking everything up the end of next week. |

Starting to look like a Gremlin again.
I am not going to mess too much with the gaps between the fender's and doors right now. I know that things will change a little bit once I get the weather strip and door striker in. |

Kicking myself about now.
For one I shouldn't of took the car off the rotisserie and there is more sh!t in this then I want to admit. There are a couple of runs that I was expecting. Those are easy fixes. But I am totally blown away with the amount crap in the paint. Anyways... Looks nice. Did a good job at getting the paint down even. Yuck... rhymes with.. yeah.. Nice shine to the paint...!!! But its kind of the way I am feeling right now.. Guess I'll get it back up on the rotisserie and go buy some 600 wet... |

Try sanding it with some 1500, then buff.
You might be surprised. Looks like the metallic runs are on the last coat. 600 is kinda rough anyway. I personally wouldn't use anything more than 1000 and stop at the primer. 1500 may get alot of the dirt out. Having AMC Fun, Ollie

Thanks guys...
But this is acrylic urethane and not acrylic enamel. It don't buff. I will have to sand it and re-apply it. But first the car needs to go back on the rotisserie. Then I am gutting the garage of all the crap and starting over. |
