If it were me, i'd buy the Javelin back. Keep what I want/can use on there Hornet and part out the rest to help the hobby. If there is someone with a cat that is truly beyond restoring, they can probably fix your Javelin so we won't lose another car.

Also, I'd put that Gear Venders you told me about in the wagon. That and a/c would be awesome.

Bucket seats were not a part of the Hornet X package. Only Gremlin X. The metal dash overlays came out on the 77 Hornet AMX.

I wish. It’s a smokin’ deal but no longer in the budget since it’s setup for a TH350 and I’m not reusing that transmission. I’d have to get a new adapter for a TF727. That kills the budget right there.

You could always put an aw4 behind that engine.

I’ve read all the threads on that swap for sure.

Those Hornet wagons are among the best looking wagons ever made. In my opinion, AMC made the best looking wagons, period. The Hornet, the Eagle, even the earlier Rambler wagons were ok.
But the Hornet and Eagle wagons were the best looking wagons, hands-down in my thinking.
The Hornet is a truly sporty looking wagon - cool to drive, cool to look at.

Depending on what you keep and what to sell from the Javelin you might have the funds to do it.

Well it’s official. The Hornet is mine! I dropped it back off with Tim yesterday after basically test driving for a week. He got to work pulling the engine last night and I had pulled the engine in the Javelin earlier in the day. My wife decided her stipulation for “letting” me buy this was that it would be in her name, so she and Tim counted money and signed stuff. First time in our entire marriage a vehicle hasn’t been in my name. So I guess this is her Hornet, lol. And she’s already picked out better seatbelts, replacement carpet, NOS key blanks, keychains, etc. I only get the boring meaningless tasks like wiring, brakes, suspension, steering, installing engine, plumbing stuff...
