Of course they come out now. About a year too late for me. Oh well, my upholstery folks shaped a pair for me and made up some new leather to go over that after rebuilding some broken and missing springs. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Foam and leather $1750.

Merry Xmas B&Gs! Just confirmed, and ordered for my ‘70 AMX, new seat foam from Legendary.

Right now, 20% off the 399$ price. For me, with shipping, $350. Sitting under my new leather seats, what else can I say!? Legendary has several sets.

Shipped this coming Monday, delivery by the end of week.

I spoke to them Monday and they said they'd be available "in days". Guess it's time!

Did they confirm the Machine seat foam is the same as the Javelin?

The seat foam and upholstery for my '72 Javelin arrived from Legendary yesterday.  I was initially a bit underwhelmed considering the cost.  I guess I was hoping for something a bit thicker and firmer than what the factory used, but I guess you can't blame them for making an accurate reproduction.  The foam feels pretty soft, about like what the factory used.

I took everything to the upholsterer today and asked her when she's putting it all together to try and firm the seats up and increase the height by a couple inches, either by adding a firmer foam underneath the Legendary foam or beefing up the springs.  The driver's seat has been annoyingly low for me so I've been sitting on a pillow when I drive.  Hopefully, she can do something to improve this.  Failing that, looks like I can also raise the seat a 1/2" or so by placing some washers between the seat frame and the floor.  Every little bit will help.

Try a lite gauge sheet metal seat pan, rivet to bottom of seat ,  stuff stuffing of choice under new or old foam, recover ,  I've done it , works great .

Not a bad idea.  I'd considered putting some more foam underneath, and a sheet metal pan might be just the thing to hold it in place.  I'll first wait to see what the upholsterer manages to come up with.

Hmmmm.........$399 foam and sheet metal. I would have thought this issue would have been addressed in the reproduction of the foam. Of course the argument will be they made it original, which even in no level of judging would anyone know.

From what I understand ,71 - 72 seat bottom has no structure in the foam to hold your weight , just the thickness of the foam and the seat frame. 73-74 has a wire support molded into the seat bottom about half way thru , it rests on top of the seat frame to hold your weight across the frame, even with the wire support after time it sags. From what I see from foam seat pictures ,your only buying the foam that sits on top of the 73-74 wire support or the 71-72 piece from the top of the seat frame up .not buying the foam that goes underneath that supports your weight . Wish they sold them when I did my 73 seats ,I spend a lot of time building up my seats side support and bottom . The new seat bottom would save a lot time. from what I see , the seat back could be used on 73-74 it would need to be thined down as 71-72 seat backs are almost twice as thick, If your seat back foam is a little worn-out just open the bottom of the seat back and carefully stuff fiber fill ( 1/2 inch thick) comes in the flat , this will take out wrinkles and sags  and give back support.
