Wow I am so jealous that is one nice looking car. If you saw either of mine (drag & street car project) you would be telling yourself the same thing.

I don’t think it would of taken much to get the car going but it is niche to be able to take your time to get it going.

Paul, they build 281 javelins in germany in 69, http://www.american-motors.de/de/karmann/

But i can gurantee that this Javelin will be back on the Road.

Stuff i orderd:

Bushing Kit at Summit
Rear Quarter Window from a Board Member
Wheel Arches and QuarterPanels at an AMC vendor,
and yeah due to the Shipping reasons, i ordered the Front and rear Spoiler too.
(Big Stuff means big Shipping Costs)

Unfortually i got no Idea haw to handle a Ram Air Hood, cause its to big to fit in the Car.

And its kina cheaper to ship a hood in her own 20ft Container as useing UPS or Simular Companys.Dead

Congratulations !  I am seriously jealous. 70 Javelin SST was my first new car.  I was given an exact duplicate a couple years ago.  It's like a time machine.

Having done a LOT of research can I offer a suggestion?
This stuff....
-Ram Air Hood and the AirGuides to the Carb
-Front/Rear Spoiler like on the Mark Donohue Car
-We will see what Stuff i will need.
Don't do it! These are SO RARE, less then 3000 in standard boby style of only 25,000 total -1 year only - if you keep it as close to factory original you'll preserve a historic vehicle while preserving and increase its value.  Of the very few made, survivors are down to -best guess- a few dozen.

Of course, if you do this and basically create a fake MD, that will make the other stock originals more valuable.  That's collecting for you.

A little historical note:  The CEO of American Motoers, in 1970 when your Javelin was produced, was George Romney, Mitt Romney's father.

So an little Update,

The Car is now ready for Pickup (Luckily it wasnt at the Shippers yard in NY while Sandy)
and it seems that it wont be alone in the Garage, as i wrote in the first Post,
I was in Need of an Quarter Window Passenegers Side,
because I found annother Javelin in Europe, and Thx to a board member i got one.
and i bought this 70s 360 Bittersweet one too.

So the greenone will be the Project car, to keep it as a stock Survivor as possible,
(a close Friend of mine is working hard on me too, to keep it as an suvivor)

And the Bittersweet will be the drivable Car for the next Season,
and due to his History, it wont be so bad to beef it up a bit, was original an Swiss Car in Frostwhite, and it has a Strange Speedometer with an 200 scale,  Cool
but this in in Kilometers per hour.... LOL

Yeah, the outside is ok, the Interiour needs a bit of Work,
and the Eletric will need some Attention too.

Somebody cuts holes in the Doorpanels and in the Panel under the rearwindow Thumbs Down  The Legendary Price + Taxes + toll and shipping Ouch

We will see that the local Interiour Shop will charge,
The Seats are kinda weak, and the upholstery has some holes.
Thinkin about Leather ...

The Electric... is kinda worse....  or is your horn signal switch a Doorbellswitch located on the driversside of the Centerconsole...
There was a Hifiinstallation inside, lots of cable and there is a lack of fuses inbetween, or i havent seen one.

Passengers Side Quarterwindow is Lexan at the Moment,
Glass Replacement is in the trunk of the green one,
i bought an additional one from the User Pacerman
(Great stressless trade and good packing, Thx to Joe)

Engine was overhauled 2000 Miles ago, beef up with edelbrock intake carb and camshaft, runs great and start on the first crank,

Gearbox is leaking a bit, Console Shifter needs an overhaul,

And a real rare Item, the 200Km/h Speedometer

But the next Project is a damn Oven in the Garage, i was freezing my butt off today.

Wow, talk about bringing back memories! My MD Javelin had the exact same crack in the steering wheel and wrinkle in the dash! Factory options perhaps! LOL My second Javelin had the corduroy interior and it was a b*tch in the cold weather. I would get electrocuted every time I got out of the car due to static charge when sliding out of the car. But she still is looking good!

Twins get the same wrinkles and beerbellys too @ Mr.Ed

- so today, i figures out there is an upholstery shop in germany that offers
an leatherpackage for javelins, 2 frontseats the rearbench and the
door panels for ~1700$, and this includes pickup at my place and
bring´em back. Plus they will beef up worn out seat spings for some
 bucks.

Kinda less compared to Legendary Prices + shipping toll and taxes.

-Find out that the Exhaust is Bulldung, there are no Arches over the
Rearaxle... the Pipes go through under the Axle ....
Remember me talking " ihad overseen something" @ Mr. ED.

Anybodys know the Quality and Price Range of Gardner Exhaust
Systems? Or what else is availeble outside selfwelding?

I remeber a Thread here in the Board where some guys discuss what kind of Exhausttube arches from more availeble Cars match... cant find it.
