wondering why I would have AC duct-work on a NON AIR CAR,  but trust me I was not complete and did not appear to ever have had factory air.

Your car may have a RARE option on '70 Javelins and AMXs known as "Command Air", and for about $40 you got the high level ventilation (i.e. A/C ducts), a 3-speed blower, and a 55 amp alternator. It made the car a little easier to convert to factory a/c as well.

You adding the new stuff?  does not matter but you add it on the compressor itself , just like a ford of that year.
