Joe, you probably have done what I plan to do. Bumper shell covers. It is a racer, so I doubt oem bumpers are used.

Back in the day (ok, the 80's for me), guys would cut the heads off of carriage bolts and weld them in the bumpers.  It was a real challenge when some of the 30's and 40's cars had spring steel bumpers.  And you needed a great chrome shop to make it look good.

So I'm guessing that is what you did for the bumpers.  Its a nice look.

Wanted to say thanks to a couple of special members who helped me with stuff for this project

Terry TLAFERRI  for hooking me up with the black C stripe that will be going on the car next week.

Earl  BIG BAD GREEN   who hooked me up with the rear window louvers that will be going on soon.

Was long ago guys but I did not forget your contribution to this effort.

I'm really glad this is a 70 model AMX. The grille goes perfect with the wide body accents. Really digging the look. It's sort of low and hunkered down around the tires. It's a trick look. Can't wait.

I NEED SOME HELP!

I need to place the quarter decals in the correct place. As you may remember this car no longer has the factory recess where the quarter round emblem sits.  I have them made in black vinyl matching the factory C stripe and matching the font of the original letters A M X.

I need a creative way to accurately place these decals on the quarters. I could approximate from a picture but I want them in the right spot. I was thinking that if I knew the exact distance from the top of the quarter edge and maybe the distance to the C stripe plus whatever else might work.

I thought of getting a large sheet of trace paper and taping it to the quarter and making a template.  Ideas?
