I WAS BLEEDING MY BRAKES THE OTHER DAY AND RAN INTO SOME TROUBLE WITH THE REAR CALIPERS. WITH THE HAND VAC TOOL I CAN FET FLUIS OUT OF THE OUTER HALF BUT NOT THE INNER HALF OF THE CALIPER. FRONT WAS NO PROBLEM. STRANGE, WILL NOW TRY AND GET AN ASSISTANT TO PUMP AND BLEED THE OLD FASHION WAY.

YES! I am in the process of changing the cam timing. I felt that there will be a better idle with the cam advanced vs. straight up . Also I am going through the oil pump and tightening up the pump gear clearance to the mid plate. Waiting for the cover to return from my machine shop guy then t will reassemble.

Wondering any updates ?
Not to "stir things up", but have been doing some 1968 Crossram research. Chevy quickly went through 3 different Carbs on their '68 302 Crossram ending up with 2x 585 CFM Holley List 4295 Double Pumper Carbs mounted "funny", pass side mounted normal, drivers side mounted backwards. What pair have you ended up with on your Crossram ? ( edit ) Ok, went back thru the thread and see currently carbs are 650 Double Pumpers. Amazing what one fails to see when looking at pictures... Along with having the driver's side Carb mounted "backwards" for symmetrical Primary Bore placement, the '68 302 Holley Carbs also have "non-standard left handed" Fuel Line Inlet Bowls... The Dual Line Inlets are on the Throttle side... the "other non-standard" side... on both... Result... ? Both Bellcranks an both Fuel Dual Lines are ALL Central and between Carbs... "clean"... AMC Edelbrock Crossrams lack a driver side central "relief pocket" disallowing this Carb Mount configuration...

I am not sure why they mounted one backwards.
Sorry for the delay, I have a new cam coming from CRANE as soon as they completed the grinding. I hope to install it this weekend and roll this car into the shop for paint. It's been way too long and I'm sure folks have given up on me. NOT The SCCA AMX will roll again |

AND THE BAD NEWS IS??????? I just got a call from CRANE CAMS and the billet that they were going to use for my grind had a defective middle journal soooooo it looks like a couple of weeks before a replacement billet can be located and ground for me. This project has been a challenge but I assure you folks following it that I will see it to the end and hopefully be able to have some fun. it's been a long time coming......thanks all for your patience and support!
