It is no big surprise to find a "surprise", the driver door was replaced for some reason, this is a sticker on the inside of the driver door, it revealed itself when I took off the door panel, so the body shop is going to take a real good look to see if there is any structural damage, it does not look like there is, but I'll let the professionals do their job, neat old sticker though, it is dated August 21, 1974

Very nice, good to see the car has little to no rust!! That is an interesting sticker. Are all of the other door tags still on the door since it has been replaced? keep up with the pictures, it's coming along great.

I just learned we can upload youtube videos directly, this is quite neat, so here is the video again, but now you guys do not have to copy the link address, just click play, way too awesome, ...this is the first "official" start up, nothing super special, but was an exciting moment as I thought the engine was seized when I bought this car!  We opened up the engine to inspect it and it turned out to be fine, needed the typical minor attention to detail, but for the most part, well... here is the video!

These arrived in the mail yesterday from a connection here on the forum, I'm excited about the door pannel in particular, my driver door pannel is a little "sad", I have a black interior, but changing tan to black is a pretty easy process, ...any more parts out there, I'll buy them!!!!  Many thanks!

Good for you dude!  Glad to see someone is getting some work done to their car.  Sweet ride.  I've got a side job I need to get done, then I can get my body panels and start welding.  A year ago, I was in the local junk yard, and someone junked a 69 Rebel.  What a crime.  Had the 6cyl in it, and was only missing the passenger front fender.  Car probably belonged to one of those people, that when asked if they'd sell, they said "no it means something to me."

Thanks, it is a neat project, discovering some issues as tear down progresses, but nothing that cannot be taken care of, ...it has a good home now with someone who is willing to give it the LHeartve it deserves!  Big smile
