HOw do you get that big spring from the pedal bracket to the mounting point. Tried too, but half inch short. Is there a trick to this. Pedal is in car so I'm doing this on my back.

An old trick is to bend the spring side to side to open the coils and slide a penny or nickel between the coils. Once you have enough stacked on both sides, the spring will be long enough to put in place. First time you press the pedal, they all fall out.

you'll eventually pay for it...
and not have it.

If everything is right it will slip on, no tools required Some replacement springs were made too short, there was a TSB on this.

I have stacked shims between the coils, installed, then push the pedal downa nd the shims fall out.....I was using material about .100 thick or so, radiused the leading edge so it would enter easier.
