Hi all -

I am trying to get information about the transmission vacuum modulator line on my 1969 AMX 390 auto (M12).

The way we found it in January seems modified, based on the parts we have (shorter than adequate hard line with a considerable length of rubber hose).
I ordered a new hard line from APD this morning.

In all the reference photos I can find (Scott Campbell's book etc.), it appears the hardline comes up and then goose necks back down and connects to a solo fitting at the rear of the man fold. Mine currently has a plug there.

Does anyone have good photos of a stock installation and maybe info on that fitting? I assume I can find one and it appears that it would have to connect with a short section of rubber hose, like at the modulator end.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks -

- Walter

Than you Charlie for the pic (PM, then an email)

Can anyone think of a reason NOT to reassemble the vacuum line straight to this fitting?

I'm just wondering out loud why it was altered somewhere along the line... maybe someone was just a little lazy or couldn't access the right parts at that moment...

I see in another thread that you got pictures. It matches what I have on my car. The fitting, if I remember correctly, is an inverted flare just like a brake line. It loops under the heater control valve, then follows the block to the driver side.
