Just a comment on the Faria current driven tach.  These are very simplistic.  There are just a few components, a transformer, two capacitors, a resistor, and a zener diode.  The weak point in them is the movement.  The taut-band movement Faria used is inferior to a D'Arsonval movement and is the primary failure point.

I'm looking to have my somewhat faded '68 AMX tach restored. Are the needle and the danger zone markings supposed to be the same color? Red? Orange? Reddish-orange? On mine the needle is orange and the danger zone markings are yellow. I can't find a pic to see what it was originally. Thanks in advance.
