Looking at the rear leaf springs on Kennedy American - wondering what the difference is between "standard" and "heavy duty"?

What is the expected 'settle' on new rear leaves in a 1968 Javelin?

Thanks,
Dave

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the heavy duty leaf springs were provided with the go-Pack and had an extra leaf at the bottom that was shorter than the others.

General consensus is that Eaton Springs are the way to go.

With HD springs in the front, what leaf spring arch should be chosen to level the vehicle, or what will adjust the rear so that it is above the front?

thanks,

DB

If buying new then Eaton. If taking to a spring shop for rebuilding then anyone with experience with AMC's will re-arch the originals to factory spec and likely advise adding an extra long leaf under the main spring.
The ride will be a little stiffer like the heavy duty, last longer, have less roll.
Some AMC's had the factory installed half leaf on the bottom front to reduce wind-up.
Have seen AMX's and Javelins with and without. Don,t know if this was option or supplier based but seems like a good idea.

I bought the Eaton with +1" and am very happy with the stance. It takes away the nose up attitude that some seem to have. Not dissing that mind you, just my preference.

The front springs are stock and unaltered. The car is a 69 AMX Go Pack with 74,000 miles. PM sent.
