1967 Rebel SST convertible

Hi,
   My 1967 Rebel SST convertible has a borg warner? 3 speed gearbox fitted it is the australian version but does not change up into 3rd any idea as to why?

It's very likely internal: dirt/varnish in the valve body; or worn out seals/low pressure.

But, check the fluid level (when warm, and on the level), and check or replace the vacuum modulator and rubber and metal line going to it. Wouldn't hurt to make sure linkage is adjusted properly so that it's not being held in "2" when you think it's in "D". You could just give the shift lever a little nudge when you're driving on light throttle at about 35...nudge it just a little towards "N" to see if "D" is properly engaged or if the linkage is 'off' a bit.
