there's room under the carb nut but making a bracket and mounting it there would most likely interfere with the throtle rod when the gas pedal is pressed. and i can move the bracket forward but it seems the TV cable is at its limits and cant move forward anymore so im going to move it back an inch +/- and extend the treaded rod. i'd leave it where it is now but the rod is barely threaded into clevise by maybe a turn or two. other than that the bracket is sturdy enough to handle the movement of TV cable, it doesn't flex or bind at all. its a bit bulky though, i might cut it down a bit.

sorry i got side tracked with lowering the car. i will finish it up soon and post some decent pics of the carb linkage and bracket.

I am having the same problems with my '65 marlin I would be interested in seeing your solution.
the way I have it hooked up now seems like it is preventing WOT of the carb...

OK guys I have a classic with a 327, had the Edelbrock on it running with the Tranny cable not correctly set up and blew my Tranny.... Needless to say that was about 2K I didn't want to spend I have found the Correct Rambler Holley Carb
H44160 on Rock AUto. The only issue is finding the correct after market kickdown cable. Here is the carb info..

It runs pretty good with out alot of mods. Still need to get it shipped over to me but the few days I drove it she ran like a top. Todd

You can't use an aftermarket cable. The cable anchors onto and goes inside the transmission. Do you have the original cable?

Yea I have an original cable but man went through three different ones to get one that had the correct length
