PGGR does something almost every month. A VERY active club. Napa, SF, Murphys, even Sacto stuff!
I'm surprised there aren't a bunch of members on this list. Not sure if this is a no. no. or not but WTH:
Let me know if I can help you out with your 59.

I can easily get to sacramento, I live in ione just about 30-40 minutes away, and I can always use help with it, can't move it much and have a very limited budget, being only 17, living in such a small town makes it very hard to make money. But I'll definitely talk to you when I have questions

Here's a sedan like your - except it's a 58. Only some minor differences between 58-59.
58 has a 3 piece front grill where the 59 has a single piece. Note the rear doors on yours. How they rise up towards the fin before getting to the back of the door. The 58 line is straighter. this is a 1 owner with the FACTORY continental kit & venetian blinds. Old grandma cars are so kewl!

Hey Bat Mobile -- go to the PGRR meeting if you can even if the car isn't running. There's nothing like talking to a lot of same-inclination people! Some take their old cars to normal club meetings, some don't.

You need to go ahead and drop the transmission. I already told you how way earlier. The most likely problem is the little "dogs" in the syncronizer jammed. That's common in the T-96 when the synchro is worn and someone tries forcing it in gear. It's easy enough to pull out, and not very heavy unless it's an overdrive trans. It's real easy to pull it out without a floor jack. Unless you're a really little guy pull it out and set it on your chest, then roll it off! It weighs around 50-60 pounds. Better to pull it with two people though, one on each side and no one under it. Yes, I have pulled them out and laid them on my chest when I was 18 and had my first Rambler. I weighed about 160- 165 at the time, 6' tall.

Pull the top cover off, look in roughly in the center, and you will see the dog that's stuck and the slots where the other two were. If not, take about three pics of the inside straight down from the top. Take one, rotate insides about 1/3 turn, another, then again. I should be able to see if the synchronizer is the problem. In the mean time, watch e-bay for a cheap TSM.

There is no 1959 TSM, just a 117 page supplement which has nothing about the transmission in it. You need a 1958 Rambler Mechanical and Body TSM (two different books, sometimes sold together). The 1960 and 61 Ramblers are virtually identical and only have one book, so if you find a good deal on a 1960 or 61 TSM get it! Sometimes these go cheap on E-bay. The only major differences are trim, you will be fine with any 58-61 TSM. The 62 would even be good, but the front suspension design changed, so no help on the front suspension in a 62. But if the price is right, everything else is pretty much the same -- the body just lost the fins and trim changed.

You can even work on the mechanicals (except front suspension) with a 58-63 American TSM. The engine and trans is the same for the six, but the carburetor type changed. I wouldn't get an American TSM unless it came up really cheap. There is no 59 or 60 American TSM -- they use the 58 (not even a supplement for 59 or 60). The manuals usually sell for around $30, several on e-bay as "buy it now" from a well known literature dealer. There is a 62 manual from a private seller with two days left at 0.99 with no bids. Seller only accepts PayPal, so that might be a problem. Media mail for one of these is cheap, may take a week. It weighs 67 ounces (4.18 pounds) without packing material, so expect about 5 pounds. You can go to www.usps.com and get a shipping quote but need to know the zip code it's being shipped from. The seller may charge for packing material too, nothing on the listing about shipping.

Well, it is the overdrive transmission, does that make it tough? My friends dad will look at it for me and he has been in the business for 30 years so I trust him a little more with it
If I can fit under there I would do that but I'm a little bigger than you were, but I'll definitely try it out.
Thanks for all the EXTREMELY useful information, I have more confidence getting under the hood now

Actually, the 59 has a two piece front grill, at least mine does. And the trim is different, but I like how my tailfins kind of flow with the rear doors, except the 58 looks better in the wagon form, but thats just my opinion. Still a really cool car! I like how the spare is, is that original?
