Does anyone have a 1950s parts book? I am trying to identify a possible 1954 six cylinder service motor or short block with the part number 3116105 on it. Thanks, joe

You might try contacting Brent Havekost, www.nashparts.com. He might be able to help.
Out of curiosity, what motor is it? |

I've got a 1949 to 1956 parts book and it lists that part number for 49/50and 51/52 Model 40 series or Nash 600 or statesman depending on the year. It also says less flywheel and vibration damper. It can be used with or with out the hydramatic automatic transmission or with a manual transmission. It's the first number in my 1949 to 1956 parts book. so, it would be the flat head motor. LRDaum

So it would be a 195.6 flathead or the older 184? Cubic inch motor? Joe

Off the top of my head with out going and digging the parts book out again I'd guess it was a 184. When it first came out it was a 172 but that was a Nash in the 1930s, 1936 I think, but the 172 did last all that long before it got moved up to the more common 184 version. The 196 version is more common in the latter AMC with the OHV version coming out in 1956 and lasting until 1965 when the newer 232 took over. LRDaum
