Ok , I'm back from the AMC Nationals in Cordova , Illinois. The plane got back to McCarren in Las Vegas,NV about 12:30 AM Monday morning . I got home about 1:45 AM and hit the bed about 2:00 AM in the morning. I had to get groceries and throw clothes in the laundry but I pretty much spent most of the rest of Monday sleeping. I'm beat and today's Tuesday and I'm still tired. I got a good 8 hours of sleep for the first time in a week as I've been going on 3 to 5 hours for the last week. I had a great time , every thing went fairly well. But I pretty much need a weeks vacation to recoup from my weeks vacation to the AMC Nationals. One very important note I lost the dam cell phone again. And people wonder why I don't carry the dam thing! Fortunately I lost near my fathers grave and some good small town people in Elmwood , Illinois found it and are shipping it back to me in the mail, but I won't have it for a few more days at best , so the only way to get a hold of me is email for the next few days. So , if you tried to get ahold me and got zip that's why. There were over 80 AMC cars on the show field, and as the NAMDRA AMC Nationals usually run probably about another 80 racing. A good 150 or 160 plus cars. There seem to be a number of people who brought nice cars and neither raced or showed them plus some spectators who drove AMCs and just parked them. I never got to go through the race cars and my mind was pretty much pudding the whole week due to lack of sleep. I due know that a couple people actually trucked in two cars and some people were making reservations for next years as I was getting ready to leave Sunday Morning. I like that idea about a week to recoup from the week off for the AMC Nationals. It is always the most awesome time. Little sleep, but well worth it. I always feel I can sleep when I return home. That nice weather Jock ordered came in just like it was on a schedule. SH

Glad I do not have one of those....I worked shift work most of my life never got used to getting up at a regular time....
anyway really enjoyed the camp fire BS......Friday and Sat.....we drove straight through again....got home 730 Monday morning......3185 miles round trip.....one more nights sleep and should be back close to normal what ever that is.........Russ pictures coming soon.............. |
