I'll be posting slip pictures in the appropriate thread later, but at the NAMDRA Nats at Cordova I finally broke into the 10's :)

Best pass was a 10.92 at 121 and change, the car consistently ran in the 10's all weekend though, the only 11 second pass I made was due to me running into the rev limiter in 1st gear and forgetting to shift! The track was hooking well, I had 60' times in the 1.53's all weekend, with one 1.52 that I couldn't seem to duplicate.

Changes to the car were minimal to make it happen.. I did go to a fiberglass hood with an SS/AMX style scoop, might have picked up a smidge there from lower wind resistance, but I doubt it made all the difference..

Mainly, I got new tires, the combination of having fresh slicks and the fact they are about an inch shorter with a slightly stiffer sidewall is where I am giving most of the credit, along with having really good air to race in!   I can't give the cool temp all the credit though, past experience has taught me that a big temp swing only makes a few hundredths difference on this car, E-85 has proven to be a good equalizer when it comes to temperature swings. In the eighth mile, it isn't uncommon for me to run the same dial in all night, and I run an honest dial, no holding tenths.

Pretty simple stuff really.. car is a '68 AMX, we got it already as a race car, so it had a 6 pt cage and a Dana 60 rear, just about everything else we changed.

Motor is a short deck 390, stock crank, stock rods w/ARP hardware, flat top pistons, Bulltear oiling goodies, Edelbrock heads/intake home ported just a little bit, Comp 290B6 mechanical flat tappet cam, 850 CFM QFT E-85 carb and a big fuel pump to feed it, 727 with JW 5K stall and JW transbrake valve body, 4.10 rear gear, Cal Tracs/Monoleaves, Rancho shocks. Race weight is about right at 3000 w/o driver, and obviously I'm running slicks.
