At some point in the future I will be bringing a 1973 Levi Gremlin to AUSTRALIA.

Plan is to accumulate all the pieces in the car for a restoration, including a roll of the Levi fabric to re-do the interior .

Have spoken with SMS and was sent a sample and quote of $139 a yard for the fabric. Roll is approx. 60-65 inches wide.

Is the denim fabric used for both the front and back of the front seats ? Also trying to estimate how many yards I will require to fully re-do the interior ?

Appreciate any advice

Only the seating surfaces were the denim-like material. The back and sides of the seat were blue vinyl which should also be available from SMS.

Don't be tempted to purchase less expensive denim material from a hobby or fabric store, it may look the same when it's new but will immediately begin to wear and ball up on the surface.

100% agree with OhioAMX.  Use of regular denim material will bring you satisfaction for about 2 weeks....and it's all downhill from there.  SMS is expensive for sure, but they know that they have exactly what you need - and charge accordingly.

Thank you gentlemen for the replies.

Exactly the type of information I was seeking !

Ok, I need to order roughly 50/50 quantities of the Denim and vinyl ?

I am just thankful that the correct fabric is available to do the car right.

Better late then never, But SMS does NOT supply denim what even come close to the original. I ordered Levi fabric at SMS, the Biggest disappointment of the fabric I received was that it was not of the same structure, it was totally different, not a diagonal structure and not as fine, much more raw.  I didn’t use it to refurbish my Gremlin chair.  Still searching for Levi’s fabric that is almost the same. SMS does not have it, don’t spent your money there.
